Another busy bowl season.

During the 2022 Bowl Season, I was able to work with the Fiesta Bowl once again as a freelancer, as the organization went through a big year, hosting a College Football Playoff Semifinal.

It was fun to be back and working on big event signage, game day social posts, and more. See below for a bit of a wrap-up of the year.

Vrbo Fiesta Bowl Team Bus Wraps

A project I never got to work on when I was a full-timer at the bowl, was really excited about this one. The branding for the buses followed the game branding throughout the season, and I added team colors/names/etc.

From street pole banners, to fence scrim, to street decals, to lead banners, I put together a cohesive signage package for the 2022 Parade.

Vrbo Fiesta Bowl & Guaranteed Rate Bowl Social Media Graphics

Social media graphics are always a huge undertaking when it comes to bowl games. With the craziness of Selection Sunday and finding out which teams are picked for the game, it takes a lot of work ahead of time to get files ready for when teams are finally announced.

This bowl season, I created graphics to be posted on the bowl’s Instagram, Twitter and Facebook for team selections at the beginning of December and for gameday. Below you can see graphics for the champions, team announcements, quarter/halftime/final score, and game events. For the Fiesta Bowl, I even added in some animation for certain pieces.

Club 71 Pregame Party Signage

A new pregame party held before the Fiesta Bowl, this was one huge branding project for me as I took the concept all the way from logo creation through to the signage displayed at the party. There was hundreds of feet of fence scrim, tent headers, wristbands, jumbotron scrim and more.

2022 Community Relations Events

Beyond the bowl game, the Fiesta Bowl holds many other smaller events throughout the year as well. I was tasked with creating a cohesive signage package for two community relations events, Spirit’s Birthday and Wishes for Teachers Draft Day.

For Spirit’s Birthday, I went colorful and fun with it, using the bowl’s three main colors with loud and large typography to help celebrate Spirit (the organizational mascot), while he celebrated his birthday with all his local mascot friends. I created a banner, posters, fence signage and team/station signs.

Draft Day is a very important event for the Fiesta Bowl, where teachers are notified if their wish for their classroom is picked and granted by the Fiesta Bowl organization. Following the Wishes for Teachers branding, I expanded upon that with many different applications in the Fiesta Bowl museum, including window, floor and door decals, retractable banners, table wraps, wall wraps, and more.
